Ramapo College of New Jersey - Relocation of Public Safety

Mahwah, NJ

Ellana provided conceptual cost estimates to Mitchell Giurgola Architects for the proposed construction of a new 6,000 square-foot building at Ramapo College.

The project scope included the demolition of the current Visiting Scholars Residence building and the construction of a new single-story building to house the RCNJ Public Safety Department. The new building program included department offices, transaction areas, an emergency operation center, administrative support areas, a break room, locker rooms, and associated mechanical / electrical rooms. There are two schemes for the new building: a 6,000-square-foot building with a “conventional” construction envelope and mechanical systems and a “net-zero” construction with solar array structures. The sitework included a new parking lot, walkways, utilities, storm water management structures, retaining walls, and landscaping.
