MTA Terracotta Repairs at 28 Stations

New York, NY

Ellana provided cost estimating services for the restoration of historical terra cotta tiled ceilings in many stations. As a result of aging and water seepage, certain areas within the stations are experiencing degradation and disintegration of the ceilings. The objective of this project is to mitigate the risk of falling hazards caused by deteriorating ceiling debris, which is a consequence of both aging and water infiltration. Additionally, the project aims to minimize service disruptions. The project included recommendations for short- and long-term projects including repairs to materials, structural elements and concrete defects.
