With the MBTA having a commitment of providing its stakeholders with the best facilities and infrastructure they can within reasonable budget, regular value engineering workshops for construction projects are held. These workshops focus on current projects ranging from small improvements to substantial facilities upgrades at existing stations. Over several contracts, Ellana teams with several Primes to lead value engineering workshops to bring better value to ongoing and upcoming projects.

The teams included MBTA capital delivery staff, architects, engineers, cost estimators, schedulers, and constructability experts. The team analyzed the project documents, existing cost estimates, and construction schedules to improve the project delivery of each project without increasing the cost or maintaining the functionality of the project and reducing the cost.
