Bedford High School Renovation + John Glenn Middle School Additions & Alterations

In a continued partnership working with this design team on projects for the Town of Bedford we provided consulting services for improvement projects at two separate schools in town. Our work consisted of the concurrent cost estimating for an addition at the middle school and alterations to the high school. We assessed the costs of the designs at both the 50% CD and 100% CD milestones.

The middle school project involved the construction of an addition to address the school's capacity issue and involved all typical trades. The town was also interested in the modernization of the existing middle school as well as the rebuilding of the school's parking lot. For the high school project, the team designed various interior renovations amounting to roughly 7,400 SF. The design of the middle school addition included a brick and glazed curtain wall facade system, a new surveillance system, and ample new classroom space. Apart from working with a tight budget from the owner, there were no particular challenges to either project.
