The New Domino

Brooklyn, NY

The New Domino project is a visionary 11.2-acre development on the Brooklyn waterfront in Williamsburg.  The project encompasses six city blocks and when complete will provide 2.4-million-sf of market rate and affordable residential units; 130,000sf of retail space; 95,000sf of commercial space and 146,000sf of community space. Due to the large scope of the project, it will be completed in five phases. This project also includes renovation and replacement of the existing waterfront including new precast piles; sheet piling at the bulkhead; and new cast-in-place pile caps to support the new waterfront expansion. The project will include extensive landscaping serving both the public and residents and will be part of the larger waterfront development in Brooklyn. In addition to the new brick- and glass-clad facades of the new buildings, the project includes renovation of the existing iconic sugar refinery and its conversion into a residential building. ELLANA was able to take the project at the early conceptual stage of development and budget accordingly for the various programs and phasing of the project.  Our use of parametric estimating gave our client and us the ability to evaluate, quickly and efficiently, alternative methods of construction as well as program changes.
