Ellana provided cost estimating services for master plan and cost evaluations for a variety of design options for the airport modernization. The scope of work of the project included a new connector building from the existing head house to new concourses, four new concourses, new cargo building, parking structure, new parking areas for airplanes, new central plan and electrical substation, associated roadways, ramps, and underground utility work. The various evaluations allowed the designers to find the most effective route to meet the owners needs; and thus, provided the basis for its’ implementation in future phases. In order to provide accurate costing for the various options, the site was visited with the design team and owner to obtain a better understanding of the existing conditions and the typical operating procedures the contractor would have to follow prior to the start of work every day on a security sensitive site.
