Client: Woods Bagot

Owner: Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey

Contract Duration: Current

Service Provided: Cost Management: cost estimating

ELLANA providing cost estimating services to Woods Bagot for a new, four-story, 88,000sf interdisciplinary structure that co-locates and aligns Rutgers’s key centers and academic excellence strategically to leverage the University’s resources to address critical issues related to food, nutrition, and health. The project is being designed in Revit (BIM). The Institute’s transformative work will focus on how the country’s major health issues are affected by developmental nutrition so that, in a generation’s time, the Institute’s work will have helped residents of New Jersey counter the debilitating effects of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease, and reverse the trend of the rising number of individuals suffering from these diseases. The envisioned new facility will be a multi-story building that will include wet and dry laboratories, shared instrumentation space, computing facilities, faculty and administrative offices, computer server room, ‘smart’ lecture halls and classrooms, and flexible spaces to accommodate the changing needs of the program. It is desirable, at a minimum, that the new facility be certified LEED® Gold. The community space will include a flexible clinical service unit to support the mission of science-based education and outreach as it relates to food, nutrition and health.
