This assignment entails providing cost estimating services to the Array/Geddis-led joint venture design team. The project involves the consolidation of two facilities into one as part of the master plan to significantly improve the care environment for its patients/residents. The plan calls for the closure and ultimate relocation of some of the existing services of the Coler-Goldwater Specialty Hospital & Nursing Facility on Roosevelt Island, NY and the renovation of the existing North General Hospital in Manhattan’s Harlem neighborhood into one facility known as “Goldwater North”. The scope includes the renovation of North General Hospital for use as a new 281-bed long-term specialty hospital and the construction of a new, connected wing for a 276- bed nursing facility on the new campus of Goldwater North using culture change principles. Array/Geddis will use Revit to design the project and Ellana will use a combination of that software and Quantity Take-Off (QTO) to produce the cost estimates.
